Analyze the scenario, with Jana Teslarova, a master’s degree student from the country of Slovakia who recently joined a large accounting firm in the United States. Jana becomes increasingly more agitated with the different social practices and traditions that seem to contradict her own. In her frustration, Jana appears to be almost prepared to leave the accounting firm after sharing her experiences with human resources.
You are the director of human resources, and after hearing about Jana’s experience, you realize that your company needs to create a special workshop to help new employees from outside of the United States adapt to the U.S culture and to encourage greater intercultural competence and empathy for managers to understand the culture of foreign arrivals.
Note: You are not designing the full workshop; instead, you are identifying the priority topic areas and supporting content that should be included.
Design a draft of the content areas to address in this new employee intercultural workshop.
Create a power point presentation of 5 slides including the following in your presentation:
*Outline the specific topic areas that to include within this workshop.

*What can existing employees, departments, and managers do to ease culture shock for new arrivals?
*How should new arrivals be prepared for the United States
*Should their on boarding program address their culture?
*How can you address cultural differences without making one culture sound better than another? For instance, explain to managers that they should be informed about the do’s and don’t s from the culture of their new hires, without resorting to stereotypes. Use specific examples.
*Does your strategy focus on respect for other cultural viewpoints and backgrounds, while also drawing a line on actions, attitudes, and behaviors that make people uncomfortable?
*Reference specific intercultural elements and concepts within your content to support your analysis and recommendations.
