- Include page numbers on each page of the essay (except for the cover page). Failure to include page numbers will result in a three point reduction.
- A bibliography page is not necessary, but remember to cite your sources (ie, page numbers or at least chapter numbers from the novel) within the essay, either using endnotes or footnotes or parentheticals. NO OUTSIDE SOURCES ALLOWED.
- You MUST include a cover page – I have posted a sample cover page on Blackboard.
- The cover page needs to clearly identify which question is being answered: PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE QUESTION YOU CHOOSE TO ANSWER FROM THIS PAGE TO YOUR COVER PAGE – simply including the question number is NOT enough. Failure to include a cover page will result in a 3 point deduction.
- ALL QUOTES LONGER THAN 4 LINES ON THE TYPED PAGE SHOULD BE “BLOCKED” – that is, single spaced on the page, so that it doesn’t take up space unnecessarily. Failure to block quotes will result in a 3 point reduction. A sample blocked quote is on Blackboard.
- Plagiarized essays will receive a failing grade. No outside sources allowed
